frabjous fibers: Hand-Dyed Wool Top / Rovings

Our fibers are hand-dyed with professional textile dyes, to create brilliant long lasting colors. We handle the top with care to ensure it is lofty and easily drafted. Quality fiber is easier and more enjoyable to work with, and lends better results.

Choose from 3 fiber types and 30 colorways. We'll dye your fibers to order and typically ship in 4-10 business days.

Merino: 70s/21 micron. Soft and squishy, merino is ideal for spinning and wet-felting projects.
Blue-faced Leicester: Long staple BFL is easy to spin, has a lovely sheen, and is nearly as soft as merino.
Tri-color BFL: Three natural shades of BFL; chocolate brown, oatmeal, and ecru, have been combed into one top to create a stripe that runs lengthwise. Each color takes the dye differently to create a multi-hued effect.

Fibers are sold as 4 or 8 oz braids, unless you request for the fiber to be bagged. Due to the nature of hand dyeing, colors may differ slightly from braid to braid. If working from multiple braids, mix them together as you spin for the most uniform look.
