Recycled Silk & Recycled Rayon Yarns
All the yarns listed below are spun from weaving mill waste.  The leftover thrums from the looms are handspun in gleaming silk skeins.  Our yarns are "fair trade" meaning the spinners get paid a fair wage for their work.

Kathmandu: Original
The original variety of Recycled Silk yarn.  Slightly over-twisted with bright colors and brilliant shine.

Kathmandu: Unrefined
A softer, scrappier version of Recycled Silk yarn.  Lovely drape and bright colors, highly textured.

Kathmandu: Bathed
This version of Kathmandu had a bath before its trip around the globe.  A commercial softer has given this yarn a super soft hand and more blended colors.

As its name implies this Recycled Silk yarn is over-twisted, making it perfect for bags, boxes, and rugs.

Hand chosen for its even texture and twist, Hand Picked is spun from premium silk remnants.  Soft and luxurious, this recycled silk is the cream of the crop.

Silk Supreme
The highest quality Recycled Silk yarn available, this yarn is a fine gauge and perfectly spun.  Great for items requiring a smaller gauge and openwork patterns that need more defined stitches.

A soft, slinky recycled rayon with a feathery soft "eyelash" texture.  "Millefiori" means little flowers which describes the varied colors of this yarn.

Vegan
Recycled Silk without the silk.  This recycled yarn is spun from cotton and rayon remnants making it an animal friendly yarn.

Live Wire
Spun strips of silk fabric make this a funky, bright colored yarn.  Not a soft yarn.  Best suited for weaving rugs, doll hair, wall hangings and other non-wearables.

Soft, feathery and jet black.  This Millefiori makes a dramatic statement.  Great for scarves and shawls.

Sari Ribbon
Something to make your project truly unique, this ribbon yarn is made from hand cut strips of silk fabrics hand sewn or hand-tied end to end.  Perfect for freeform knitting and crochet, weaving, embellishing, embroidery, quilting techniques, and virtually any "edgy" project.  The fabrics found in this yarn are generally silks, plus cotton and rayon, with occasional metal threads.
