FINISHING
With two feet MC yarn, thread a darning needle. Fold petal in half long ways. Run darning needle through folded end of flower, about 3 rows up from the bottom. Catching a few stitches will cause the petals to “cup” a little and give a nice effect. Repeat for all petals. Push the petals together to form a flower and close the center. Determine right side of the flower, shape as desired.
Run the needle through the petals once again to secure them and tie off on the wrong side
of the flower. If desired; using another piece of yarn or ends, sew or tack petals together at the sides to keep them from flopping down when worn. Sew large safety pin or pin back onto wrong side of flower.
Note: If placed at the "top" of the back of the flower, it won't
flop over. Weave in ends with darning needle or small crochet hook.
If you like, add a center to your flower. There are lots of options, each giving it a different look. Try a vintage button, beads, or
use yarn to knit a contrasting bobble.
